Aichi Prefecture is blessed with bountiful nature of both mountains and ocean and has long been serving as a transportation hub for the location, practically in the center of the Japanese archipelago, is also known as the place of birth of all "The Three Unifiers" [Saneiketsu], Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and Tokugawa Ieyasu. This region has long been renowned for the prosperous "monozukuri" [manufacturing] industry and some of the representative items are the vehicles manufactured by Toyota Motor Corporation, the pottery and ceramics of Seto and Tokoname, and the woven wool textiles of Ichinomiya.


Getting there and around

Aichi Prefecture, located practically in the heart of Japan, serves as a key transportation hub connecting Tokyo, Osaka, and other cities in central Japan. Aichi has excellent access to the Kanto and the Kansai regions, with the advanced highway networks, Tokaido Shinkansen [Bullet Train], and other railroad networks. There are also two airports in the prefecture which are, Central Japan International Airport [Centrair], located in Tokoname City serving both international and domestic flights, and Nagoya Airport, located in Toyoyama Town, serving domestic flights.
