Creeping Phlox Festival Takes Place at Chausuyama Kogen in Aichi: Around 400,000 Flowers Bloom Across a Highland at 1,358 Meters

The festival is taking place at Chausuyama Kogen in Toyone Village, Aichi, from Sat, May 9 to Sun, June 7, 2026. Around 400,000 vibrant creeping phlox (moss phlox) bloom across Aichi’s highest flower field at an elevation of 1,358 meters, creating a breathtaking landscape of color.

Enjoy sweeping mountain views and magical evening illuminations

Near the summit, visitors can enjoy expansive flower fields spread across an open hillside with unobstructed views reaching as far as the Southern Alps, one of central Japan’s major mountain ranges. A sightseeing lift provides a relaxing ride toward the summit area, making the journey itself part of the experience.

On selected weekends — May 16, 17, 23, and 24 — special evening illuminations will be held, with extended opening hours until 21:00. From dusk through the evening, the illuminated flower fields create a completely different atmosphere from the daytime scenery. Visitors can also enjoy local specialties and regional foods from Toyone Village at the venue.
