Founded in 1963, Grandia Housen is a large Japanese-style inn, or “ryokan,” spread over an expansive area of 7,000 tsubo (approximately 1,000 square meters). In addition to the large bathhouse Tenjo SPA, which was reopened in 2017, it houses a large bath, a sleeping bath, a hinoki (Japanese cypress) bath, a beauty bubble bath, an open-air bath, and a sauna. Enjoy a range of elegant hot spring experiences at the one venue. The hotel also has an annex and a villa, and offers a full range of services including an all-inclusive lounge, footbaths, and onsen egg making! Close to famous sightseeing spots and tourist facilities in the prefecture, it is an ideal base for travel in Hokuriku.
The Tenjo SPA in the heavens is a beautiful place only comparable to the moon and the stars, where you can enjoy the beautiful night sky or the daytime countryside scenery of the four changing seasons. The bathhouse is fully equipped with a large bath, a sleeping bath, a hinoki bath, a beauty bubble bath, an open-air bath, and a sauna, allowing visitors to tour several elegant bathing experiences within the building. Esthetic and relaxation services are available in the salon situated just in front of the large baths, so you can relax in a private space without worrying about anyone else. There is also a large hinoki bath exclusively for guests staying at the villa and the annex, where you can spend a decadent time in a cozy space with the fragrance of Japanese cypress.
All of Kotobuki-tei villa’s sixteen rooms are large spaces with their own exclusive open-air bath. The garden suite rooms with elegant Japanese gardens comprise the first floor, and on the second are the ultimate modern Japanese-style comfort suites. Finally, the Royal Suite is the only one of its kind.
Furnishings in the lounge corner dedicated to the villa incorporate local Echizen Fukui traditional Japanese paper, weaving, and folds (pleats). Authentic kaiseki cuisine prepared by a dedicated chef in the kitchen of the private restaurant ensures that each and every guest is treated to the best hospitality can offer.
Yutorogi-tei is a modern Japanese-style resort resplendent in greenery. Free to be used like a vacation home, there are 14 rooms available, and each features a different style of garden-setting open-air bath, such as stone, ceramic, and hinoki. Guests can choose from a wide range of room types, including Japanese-style rooms, Japanese/Western-style rooms, and Western-style rooms, so choose the room that best suits your taste. The meals are prepared by Japanese chefs at the restaurant "Yuzen" and paired with wine and sake selected by sommeliers and sake connoisseurs.
Grandia Housen also boasts suites with half-open-air baths, in “Sakura-tei Suite," or the “Sakura-tei Nagomi” room type, ideal for families or group trips, where all rooms are over 60 m2. "Hanare Kokomichi-tei," which is perfect for couples and solo travelers, has a view of Japanese gardens from every room as well as access to a private lounge and a large hinoki bath. There are many rooms to choose from, including "Kousuiden," which offers a choice of spacious standard rooms, townhouse-style rooms with whirlpool baths, rooms with an outdoor hot spring bath, and more. The hotel also offers a variety of guest rooms. In addition, "Sakuratei" has a very special Japanese/Western-style room, the only one with a dinosaur theme!
Hokuriku Fukui is famous as the “city of food.” You simply must try the dinner buffet at Restaurant Tokinokura, which features a wide variety of Fukui's seasonal delicacies. Grandeur Housen's main concern is to cook and serve the food in front of guests so as not to spoil the "highest point" of the ingredients and dishes.
Restaurant Tokinokura is exclusive to guests staying at Hanare Kokomichi-tei and Sakura-tei Nagomi.
