Established in 1937, Enraku is the crown jeweled hotel of Unazuki Onsen, with a spectacular view of the Kurobe Gorge. All the guest rooms at Enraku face the gorge, for the guests to enjoy the dynamic seasonal beauty of the valley from every room. Surrounded by selected beddings and furnishings, heal the body and soul with the highest level of hospitality provided exclusively by the Ryokan [Japanese accommodation facility].
The onsen [hot springs] of the Unazuki Onsen is said to be one of the clearest in Japan, vividly reflecting the scenery of the Kurobe Gorge, changing expressions seasonally. Enjoy the onsen [hot springs] to your hearts content in the outdoor bath made from a 400-year-old Japanese cypress, a rock open-air bath inspired by the flow of the Kurobe River, or a large bathtub with sauna.
Enraku has rooms with open-air baths to enjoy the spectacular view of the valley taking it all to yourself. There are baths made of Towada Stone in beautiful shade of pale blue and green, ceramic tubs with the warmth of the soil, and baths of fresh Japanese cypress, to fully enjoy the onsen [hot springs] privately.
Enraku has a new wing "Taihokaku" along with the main building "Honkan", with moderately priced guest rooms with an outstanding view. In addition to standard rooms with veranda and courtyard, rooms with an open-air bath are also available.
One of the deepest bays in Japan, Toyama Bay is a treasure trove of seafood. Melting snow from the Tateyama Mountain Range circulating in the earth, bringing oxygen and nutrients to Toyama Bay, makes the seafood tasty. Enjoy Kaiseki cuisine [traditional Japanese multi-course meal] making use of abundant seasonal foods unique to Toyama along with the best ingredients including the "Jewels of the Toyama Bay", white shrimp and the crab, served in special dishes.
“Kurobe Gorge Trolley Train” is a trolley train running through the deepest V-shaped gorge in Japan. It is an unexplored region to enjoy the fresh greenery in spring, the clear stream in summer, and the autumn leaves in fall - away from daily life. In winter, the way is blocked by snow, but when the trolley train starts to operate in mid-April, more tourists visit the city, until the end of November when the trolley operation ends. Unazuki Station, the departure point of the trolley train, is a 5-minute walk from Unazukionsen Station. A free shuttle bus service is available from the hotel to Unazukionsen Station.
