Experience Nagoya’s samurai history and traditional culture
The Nagoya Festival has long been associated with the Three Great Warlords: Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and Tokugawa Ieyasu.
Although the traditional parade will not be held in 2026, a Three Heroes Float Exhibition will take place at Hisaya Odori Park. Visitors can also enjoy performances by warrior reenactors, offering an entertaining introduction to Japan’s samurai culture and the historical figures connected with Nagoya.
The festival will also feature traditional Japanese performing arts, including float music and karakuri puppet performances. Kagura music performances will add to the traditional atmosphere, giving international visitors an opportunity to experience Japanese cultural traditions while exploring central Nagoya.
Nagoya’s local food culture will also be represented at a gourmet zone featuring Nagoya cuisine, allowing visitors to enjoy regional specialties as part of their festival experience.
The 2026 festival will be centered around Hisaya Odori Park, making it easy to combine the event with sightseeing, shopping, and dining in the Sakae area.
